Tuckman-Barbee installed a concrete wave attenuating system to counteract the wave action coming off the Severn River that had deteriorated the existing wave screen. These floating breakwaters will provide the USNA with stability and longevity within a calm basin, as well as a docking system. Additionally, a floating dock system was installed along the west sea wall of the basin to safely launch small vessels, and a timber sloped dock section was attached to Mercedes Wharf breakwater section to store sailboat dinghies for the Academy.
