Our work at the Santee Basin at the U.S. Naval Academy underscores our capability in specialized
marine construction that supports critical training programs. Located along the Severn River, the basin serves as the
harbor for the Academy’s Navy 44 Mark II sail training fleet and smaller instructional sailboats, playing a vital role
in midshipmen sailing education. To enhance the basin’s functionality and protect the fleet, we installed a floating
concrete wave attenuator system to replace the deteriorated wave screen, ensuring long-term protection from river
wave action. A new floating dock system along the west seawall allows for the safe launch of small vessels, and a
timber sloped dock at Mercedes Wharf accommodates dinghy storage. These improvements support the longevity
of the USNA’s sail training program and exhibit our experience in delivering complex waterfront infrastructure.
