Renovate an existing parking lot into an area that will allow pedestrian traffic from Annapolis to enter through two new gates into a new courtyard. The courtyard will incorporate several monuments along with new lighted brick paver walkways. The parking lot area will be reconfigured so it addresses the need for traffic entering the Academy, visitor bus drop off area and temporary parking for visitors who need to pick up ID and vehicle passes. There will be a new 2400 square feet visitors building that will have two functions: 1) The building will welcome new visitors and process them through the security check area to access the interior of the Naval Academy. 2) There will be a pass & tag area for people who need to be processed for ID’’s and vehicle passes. There will be 640 linear feet of new brick faced flood wall with a 3 foot black iron fence on top installed along the area that separates Annapolis from the Academy. A combination of pop up security barriers, bollards, force control planters, turnstile gates and iron swing gates will be incorporated to further secure the Naval Academy.
